About Me

Hi! I’m Escher, a creative web developer and recent grad from Portland, OR. Through my studies in Computer Science at the Oregon State University Honors College and five plus years of professional freelance and web agency work, I’ve cultivated a strong background in the diverse field of web design and development. As a freelancer, I work closely with business owners and entrepreneurs bringing projects to life.

   • Watch your website come alive, harnessing the latest web technologies to provide a responsive, optimized, and accessible experience. Customize the content and media on your site to your hearts content, leveraging familiar CMS platforms like WordPress and EmDash.

   • Set it and forget it. Supervised web hosting from $15/mo, including analytics. Interested in hosting elsewhere? No worries, I’ll help you set it up!

Process

If you’ve never worked with a web developer before, the process can undoubtedly feel intimidating. In practice, however, it’s more straightforward than it seems! From our first conversation to launch day, every step is designed to keep you informed, involved, and confident in where things are headed. Here’s how I like to break down my projects:

1. Consultation
   • Consultation – In this initial conversation we’ll discuss brand identity, website requirements, and your target audience.
   • Proposal – If you think I’m a good fit for your project, I’ll send you a proposal that outlines the scope of work, timeline, deliverables, and cost.
2. Web Design
   • Brainstorming Session – In this phase, we’ll Identify key pages, organize inspirations, and plan the structure of the site.
   • Wireframes – Next, I’ll create several low-fidelity mockups, laying out where elements like menus, images, and text will live on each page.
   • Design Mockups – Finally, I’ll develop detailed mockups that integrate your brand’s colors, images, and typography—iterating based on your feedback.
3. Web Development
   • Development – Over a span of several weeks, your site gets built!
   • Content Integration – Your copy, images, and other content gets added to the site.
   • Testing – Your site is tested across browsers and devices to make sure everything looks and functions correctly.
   • Review – Final walkthrough before launch; an opportunity to request any tweaks.
   • Launch – Your site goes live!
4. Web Hosting
   • Handoff – Your site is ready to live on it’s own! Once you’re set up with the site’s CMS platform, you’ll have full control over it’s layout, content, and media.
   • Continued Support – Got an issue? Let me know! I’m committed to the long-term success of all my projects.

Pricing

I offer competitive pricing for the Portland, OR area. Given my experience and skillset, my going rate is $55/hr.

1 – Excluding domain registration costs. Updates/changes to the site will be billed at Web Development rate.

Min. budget for a design/development project is $825—or 15 hours of work. Consultation/proposal is not billed.
